Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Option A:
- Master’s degree in the relevant discipline (Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, English, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Physical Education, Political Science, Punjabi, or Sociology) with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from an Indian or accredited foreign university.
- Cleared UGC/CSIR NET, SLET, SET, or equivalent, OR awarded a Ph.D. degree per UGC Regulations (2009/2016).
- For Ph.D. holders registered before July 11, 2009, NET/SLET/SET is exempted if:
- Ph.D. awarded in regular mode.
- Thesis evaluated by two external examiners.
- Open viva voce conducted.
- Published two research papers (one in a refereed journal).
- Presented two papers at UGC/ICSSR/CSIR-sponsored conferences/seminars.
- Certification of conditions by Registrar/Dean (Academic Affairs).
Option B:
- Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 by QS, Times Higher Education, or ARWU (Shanghai).
Relaxations
- 5% relaxation (55% to 50%) at Bachelor’s/Master’s for SC/ST/Differently-abled candidates.
- 5% relaxation for Ph.D. holders with Master’s before September 19, 1991.
- Equivalent grade to 55% valid where grading system applies.
